Movie Review - 2 States

A Review of 2 States

By movie buff Sucharita Das Ghosh

Jhaalmuri Rating : 3.5/5

It is always a risk to watch a movie based on my favorite book. Because I have read the novel or book many times and remember every single bit of it and keep on comparing with the movie. Finally end up cursing the editor or script writer and the director for the injustice with the novel. There are very few movies which can really hold the essence of the original story. I must say “2 states” is one of them. It is a love story of two budding MBA ‘s Krish and Ananya studying in IIM , Ahmadabad , and the story starts there. How they became friends gradually and fall in love. They got job and want to get married, but their parents are against it as they belong from different community. So here the struggle begins to get their parent’s permission. Krish tries to convince Ananya‘s parents, to some extent he becomes successful. Ananya visits Krish’s place, meets his mother, and tries to cook dinner and fails. But in Krish’s cousin’s marriage party she gets a chance to impress Krish’s mother and relatives. But that is not all. Now the boy’s family has to like the girls family and vice versa (sigh!). So they go for a vacation together which ends up in a disaster and Ananya breaks up with Krish leaving him nowhere.  Finally Krish’s dad whom Krish hated since childhood meets Ananya’s parents and sorts out everything. Arjoon Kapoor and Alia Bhatt makes a perfect pair as Krish and Ananya. Ronit Roy is very significant as Krish’s angry dad. Amrita singh makes a perfect Punjabi mom. Revathy and Shiv Kumar Subramaniam is just so right as Ananya’s parents. Overall the movie is sweet and subtle. Alia Bhatt is spontaneous in her acting. In few scenes I feel Arjun Kapoor could have done better, like where he is saying Ananya that he pretends to be is friend where as he wants her to be his girlfriend. The location is just awesome where the marriage ceremony is held. Overall, I would rate it 3.5/5 and recommend to watch it. It will surely entertain you and may bring some flashbacks of your own life!!!

Restaurant Review - Chilli's

We never read or heard much reviews of Chilli’s . but did not think twice step inside as we were attacked by hunger badly yesterday.
It is in Quest,a new shopping mall at Syed Amir Ali avenue. It was semi crowded and did not require any prior reservation, might require on weekends. Anyone who loves to try new food would surely be delighted with the menu card. Chilli’s serves Tex- Mex food. The menu card was quite mouth watering along with the big colorful pictures of the dishes. As an appetizer we ordered Tripple Dipper which contains a good portion of Chicken wings, chicken crisps and South western eggrolls with three type of dips.

Chicken crisps are really good, if adding more “l” s in “really” can reflect my satisfaction for chicken crisps , then you can add as many as you want. We ordered cheese balls , which was hot and crispy and a good pair with blueberry iced tea. I personally did not like the iced tea as it was a bit dull. They have mango iced tea also which I am planning to try in my next visit. As main course we ordered Grilled chicken platter, which has a Grilled chicken breast with assorted veggies , a portion of herbed rice and sauce. They also serve Salad, pizzas ,fajitas. Altogether it was 1300 for two people including all tax etc. Ambience and assistance is good.

Tickle your taste buds , check here for menu www.chilistogo.com.

Now after “Peter Cat” , I think I have found another place to go anytime to beat the hunger.
